Tapestry FAQ
Questions, answered.
Everything to know before you record: how Tapestry finds directions in your words, what it stores, and how plans work.
About Tapestry
What is Tapestry?
Tapestry is a creative thinking companion for iPhone and Chrome. Talk through an idea in the iOS app or capture audio from a selected browser tab, and Tapestry turns the transcript into grounded creative directions and practical next steps.
Who is Tapestry for?
Tapestry is built for artists, writers, designers, photographers, filmmakers, makers, strategists, and anyone who develops ideas by talking them through. You do not need a polished brief before you begin.
How does a Tapestry session work?
Choose or create a Creative Profile, start recording, and talk as you normally would. Tapestry transcribes the session, surfaces emerging Sparks while you speak, and shapes the strongest directions into Threads you can revisit after the session.
What is a Creative Profile?
A Creative Profile gives Tapestry useful context about a kind of work you do: your interests, skills, tools, goals, preferred outputs, and constraints. You can keep different profiles for different practices or projects so the directions stay relevant.
What does the Tapestry Chrome extension do?
The Chrome extension turns audio from a browser tab—such as a YouTube video, course, interview, meeting, or other browser video—into a live transcript, Emerging Sparks, and actionable Threads connected to your active Tapestry Creative Profile. It captures only the tab you choose after you press record and does not capture your microphone.
Where can I use Tapestry?
Tapestry is available for iPhone through the Apple App Store and as an extension for Google Chrome through the Chrome Web Store. Recording, transcription, and AI analysis require an internet connection.
Sessions & AI
What are Sparks?
Sparks are focused creative possibilities detected during a session. They can reveal a connection, constraint, technique, question, or practical next step, and they are grounded in evidence from what you actually said.
What are Threads?
Threads are the clearest directions shaped from a completed session. Each Thread pairs an idea with an action and evidence from the conversation, so you can understand where it came from and decide whether to continue it.
Is Tapestry just a transcription app?
No. The transcript preserves your source material, but the main purpose is to help you find creative direction inside it. Tapestry connects what you say with your profile and turns those connections into specific, usable possibilities.
Can I use Tapestry with conversations or other media?
Yes, as long as you have the right to record or capture the source. On iPhone, Tapestry uses the microphone. In Chrome, it captures only audio from the browser tab you explicitly choose. You are responsible for obtaining any consent required by law and respecting everyone’s privacy and rights.
Are transcripts and AI suggestions always accurate?
No. Transcription can miss words, and AI-generated material can be incomplete, inaccurate, or simply not fit your intention. Treat every Spark and Thread as a creative prompt: review it, edit it, or ignore it. Your judgment stays in charge.
Privacy & Plans
What happens to my audio and transcript?
When you start a recording, Tapestry captures audio from your iPhone microphone or the Chrome tab you selected and sends it securely in short chunks for transcription. The Chrome extension does not capture your microphone. Transcripts, profile context, and generated results may be stored with your session so Tapestry can provide history. You can manage your data and delete your account through the controls described on this site.
Does Tapestry use my recordings to train AI?
KOKORO does not sell your recordings or transcripts and does not use them to train a KOKORO general-purpose AI model. Tapestry uses contracted transcription and AI providers to deliver the features you request, subject to the safeguards described in the Privacy Policy.
How do subscriptions and recording minutes work?
Recording and AI features on iPhone and Chrome may require an active auto-renewable subscription. The iOS app shows the current plan, localized price, billing period, recording allowance, and included features before purchase. Purchases, restorations, plan changes, and cancellations remain in the iOS app or your Apple Account. There are no automatic overage charges, and unused minutes ordinarily do not roll over unless an offer says otherwise.
How do I restore, manage, or cancel a subscription?
You can restore purchases inside Tapestry and manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple Account. Deleting the app or your Tapestry account does not automatically cancel an App Store subscription.
Where can I get help?
